Jarret Stoll charged with 'Possession of Controlled Substance' for cocaine
Pending unrestricted free agent and soon-to-be former Los Angeles Kings forward Jarret Stoll was charged Monday with one count of Possession of Controlled Substance, according to Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times. This is a felony. Per Dillman, the substance was cocaine.
Stoll was arrested at the Wet Republic pool in late April for suspicion of possession of cocaine and Ecstasy.
The pool is located at the MGM Grand. The NHL will hold its annual awards at the MGM Grand on Wednesday, and the league is looking into some sort of Las Vegas expansion.
Stoll, 32, was immediately referred to the NHL and NHLPA joint Substance abuse and Behavioral Health program. Criminal charges were pending on toxicology results of the substances.

Whoa goody, that’s when free agency is supposed to start. Stoll was already probably not getting brought back by the Kings. Last season, he scored six goals and notched 11 assists in 73 games. He had been with the Kings since the 2008-09 season and was an important part of the team's 2012 and 2014 Stanley Cup championships.
As for what Stoll's facing, per the Orange County Register:
If convicted of a felony, Stoll faces a maximum of four years in state prison but could receive a suspended sentence and probation at the discretion of the judge, according to information provided by the Clark County (Nev.) District Attorney’s Office.
The team seemed to take a proactive approach in Stoll’s recovery. General manager Dean Lombardi said he met with Stoll and called it, “Probably one of the most gut-wrenching meetings I’ve had in my career and I’ve had meetings with lots of players.”
